Just Balance with Brittany: Balancing my identity as a black woman
Hi Triple B's-
Thanks for checking out today's blog-cast. I am excited to introduce this week's blog on balancing my identity as a woman of color, part II. The outpouring of support and kind words from last week's blog was simply encouraging. Sometimes it's scary to put the things that are closest to your heart out there for folks to read. I realized that "saying the words out loud" was healing and it made me think about the fact that I wish I would've said it years ago. Writing it allowed me to release it. I've realized that as things transpire, they really do become a part of who you are. Experiences and situations that happen to us alter who we are and how we navigate the spaces of life.
This week, I have a special co-author that has joined the conversation with me. Chandra and I are former colleagues, but I knew the first time that we interacted, I was seen, valued, and heard by her. She affirmed me in ways that I'm sure she doesn't even realize. When I decided to write about how I balance my identity as a black woman, I knew Chandra would be perfect for this conversation. Welcome Chandra Boone to Just Balance with Brittany, Triple B's.

As always, words are what I have for you!
